Default WTB: D16Y8 motor/tranny running

I've got a 99 Civic EX 5-speed. In need of motor and tranny.... D16Y8... Thanks!
Or if anyone has any info on a good machine shop in Illinois somewhere where I can have my blown D16Y8 built for the boost I'm running... If not I'll settle for a stock motor I can run low boost on...

Thanks
Ian

I got a tranny 96-01 civic (shoc hydro tranny) no grinds or pop outs.
i got it from a shop when i swaped my girls motor.
the reson im not useing it is because the clutch would not fit so we used her old tranny...

Looks a bit rough around the edges so to speak....How many miles approx? Your in Ontario, this would cost and arm and a leg to ship to 60050/Chicago area... How much $$$ you looking for?

Don't mean to sound like an ***, but my motor is going to the machine shop tomorrow and I'll be running about 400-450HP out of the motor, so I will need a trans in exceptional condition... if not I will just rebuild the trans in the car right now...

Thanks 424racer!

i've got a high milage d16y8 and trans in my car running right now, swapping out for a b series very soon, if you're just looking for something to last as long as while your motor is being built it might work for you, i myself have owned it for 10 months/36,000 miles and it still starts up and runs fine, burns a small amount of oil relative to how you drive it and the clutch disk does slip once and a while in high rpm but it still goes fine, pm me if you're interester 18940

I have a Y8 Motor & Trans. out of a 98 EX coupe. Trans. has approx. 2500 miles since new coutershaft & Mainshaft bearings replaced along with both axle seals. the motor has 103k. Motor & trans. were pulled to swap in 98spec ITR. Engine runs strong & Trans. shifts Perfect. Located in CT. Hit me up if interested.

yeah the tranny has (they say around 35-65k miles on them when you buy them)
the tranny has been sitting for a year and a half...
im in no rush to sell it i really dont need it (its junk to me)
all my cars have DOHC in them so i can use it LOL.
ill take $150 +shipping (what ever that is) lol

and no the tranny is not bad so your not wasting your time...

good luck..
