how many people run konis with springs verse full coilover systems?
Not as many that should be, especially on daily drivers.
People see 'coilover' and they think it is automatically better. What makes a car handle well starts with a quality shock, and sadly none of the sub $1000 fully adjustable coilovers (for Ep3/RSX applications) have what I'd even remotely call a good shock.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of good shock options for the chassis, but the Koni yellow is certainly one of the better/best ones.

they would run better than a coilover system then. i was never a huge fan of coilover systems, i would like to run the spring i have on the car now, H&R, with the yellow koni

I run the Koni Yellow's with Eibach Springs on my 06' DC5. Ride is just fine, obviously it's a little bit rougher than stock even on the softest setting. But no complaints here with the setup I have.

Opps my bad, they are the pros. I like the ride, don't think I will be changing to anything else anytime soon. It does sit really low with the A-Spec kit (probably an inch or so off the ground), but I have had no problem with hitting bottom.
from me on the setup.

From what I've seen and what I have heard talking to people you'd be better off going with a good set of shocks (koni yellows) with good springs than to just buy 1000 dollar tein or whatever coilovers...
How often are you really going to raise or lower your car? Keeping in mind that you need an alignment whenever you do so...
I'm putting my konis on my EP3 and I can't wait to see what it is going to be like. I expect nothing short of awesome though!

I have koni yellows on ground controls. Honestly this setup was bomb but the koni's blow out pretty easily. They definitely need to be revalved if your going to lower more then an 1.5" Koni's and springs will definitely out handle the cheaper coilovers like Megan, progress, and Ksport. Pretty sure Tein and Apexi have them more then beat though.

Yea one of the main reasons obviously is the A-spec kit. Thanks for the positive feedback

Despite what a few people in this thread have said Progress coilovers are thought to be the best "economy" coilover available. There are no "adjustments" other than ride height and the shock is matched to the spring rates.
