Default Help! I have a nice new hole in my exhaust pipe! results of harness install!

well, after trying to drill holes for my 5 pt harness i noticed something... I DRILLED right into my exhaust! And my friend was there to look and laugh!

the canister looking thing between the cat and the muffler! (is there a name for this thing?)

theres a nice 7/16" hole in it now and i'm just shocked how my hands were so careless with a drill

Is there anything I can use to "patch" this hole up or should i go get it welded at midas?

Genius strikes gold! well, atleast my exhaust piping

...oh well the hardest part is over...and i look black from all the soot and crap underneath the car

Took pictures! Will post soon!

Go to pepboys. They have something that adhears to the small holes that like that will act like a band aid.

Good job ace

That's the resonator. Without it, your exhaust would be even louder and raspier.

Not as bad as the stereo (amp or CD changer) install in an RX-7 tt (FD3 ?) where they put a hole in a $750 gas tank! LOL

you could even get a little piece of aluminum flashing with jb weld and then use a stainless screw fastener and tighten it around everything.

14 yrs ago, my friend were installing one of those goose neck EQ on the side of the center console of his 88 MR2 SC. After mounting the base, he notice a red liquid coming out from back side of carpet. It end up to be Red Antifreeze!
He drilled into the Radiator lines which runs along the center frame of the chassis.
Cheap *** EQ end up with an expensive repair
