auto mpfi help. please
I kno theres alot of people asking about MPFI swap info, but what do i need to do different when doing a mpfi swap and my auto to manual swap? do i need to use a auto ecu? can i get crx si harness and use it? how do i bypass the auto shiftlock? i searched and couldn't find anything and when i did find stuff it didn't answer my Questions. any help would be great. . thanks.
wiring won't be any different than if you were doing a regular mpfi swap. I've done it before. As far as the shift interlock, I dissasybled the factory auto shifter till I just had basically the gear selecter switch, slid the tab to the "park" position and left it intact under my console, never bothered anything. I slid it out of park when it was left unattended as an anti-theft device, car won't start unless the tab in in park
. I never did get my reverse lights to work, just didn't care. But just get the haynes manual for the car, the manual tranny's have the two wires coming off 'em for reverse switch. but car ran fine with no check lights just by doing the standard dpfi-mpfi conversion.

thanks for the info. but can i just get a si engine harness? would that help any? i have a pr4 ecu and a stock 89 si ecu which one should i use. both manual,
The Si engine harness will only be good for pieces needed to alter your factory harness. Si engine harness is a very different configuration in the way it plugs into the chassis harness @ the firewall. You don't necessarily need an si harness for that though, you can use pretty much any mpfi honda harness for your pieces. what I always do is grab a random mpfi harness (accord, prelude, civic etc.) peal off most of the loom, then clip off the fuel injector portion( the plastic square tube with injector wires coming out) along with the injector resistor portion leaving *as much extra wire as posible*, then attatch the fuel injector portion to the new manifold, then splice where needed from your factory harness into the new fuel injector portion, leaving pig tails to build a sub harness to (for the wires that need to be added from the ecu). This method gives a nice factory look. solder and heat shrink is your friend. Use the Si ecu.
