h22 crankshaft and sleeves question
obviosuly i have an h22a1 which im replacing all of the internals with better stuff..so, i bought 87mm sleeves from Darton, and as i went around machine shops, some told me it was no problem putting them on, others told me that i need to send them to Darton Inc. with the block and everything so they could put them in cause they have special machines an etc...and if i dont do that, i will have oil leaks in my block and etc......any advice? also, i saw this stroker kit (crankshaft, pistons and rods) on nyxracing for 3400 bucks...is it worth gettin it? if not, then what size crank and piston do i need to go along with my sleeves?
thank you
thank you
Are you talking about this kit? http://www.nyxracing.com/brian....html
If you read the details of the kit it uses 55mm mains. Honda used 50 mm mains for H and F series engines until the F23 and the 97 H22. If I had a dollar I would bet that you had 50 mm.

are they flanged sleeves or liners? any joe schmo with a brain should be able to install liners, but the flanged sleeves need some equipment that not all shops will have or are willing to spend the time to do. but its by no means "special". find a better machine shop.
well, i did some more research and i dont know if this is a good idea, but one shop will pull the engine out ($600) and he's talking about replacing some little stuff like new wires and other stuff (im not to keen on that), one shop will put my sleeves ($750) cause thy are flanged, and one shop is going to put the rest of my stuff in ($1400)..is this a good idea? or can anybody reccomend a good machine shop in the west palm beach area or miami area?
i work in west palm, ill find out for ya.
