Default Need help!! alternator, solenoid fuse 14 popped

Heres my story.
Car: 1990 hatch dx
Motor: Jdm d15 sohc vtec.

So my charging system light came on Sunday morning, I was on my way to grab a alternator on Monday brought a extra battery with me to make sure I could get there. I did not make it. So got it towed to my friends shop. At the shop i replaced the alternator and went to fire it up. No luck, decided to check fuses and found the alternator solenoid fuse had blown. Thought it was connected with replacing the alternator and it had blown due to a surge prior to replacing it. Got it started and it was all good. Made it home over 50 km.

Today I decided to go out for a drive, so I make it to a local hang out and let the car idle for a few minutes talk to some people and decided to cruise some more. Get in the car and go to put the belt on and it popped again. I had a extra fuse in the car slap another 10 amp in and it blew right away. I only had a 15 amp fuse left and i knew I shouldnt but I did and i got the car home, Now my question does anyone know what this fuse is protected by so I can start chasing some wires and make sure it wont pop again. I dont want to leave the 15 amp in there cause im just looking for trouble if I do. Anyone have a wiring diagram of the under dash fuse panel so I can start tracing stuff.

I have read some stuff about people popping this fuse when installing larger fuel pump. Not the case here. Sorry about the long read PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks in advance,

While you car is ideling, hook up a volt meter to the battery terminals and watch how much voltage is being sent back to the battery should be around 14v.
Keep the meter on there until the fuse pops again, monitor the meter to see if the voltage spiked up, causing the fuse to blow.

check the main white line from the alt to the fuse box and make sure its not grounding out. its in the harness so its hard to check without ripping the harness apart you can also just make a new line out of some 6- 8ga wire to check

Well if it surges causing the fuse to blow, then u have ur problem.
Now it could be a faulty alternator or wiring.
Ive seen NEW alternators not work.

Haha i just did this and the same thing happened. Its got to be my rad fan wiring, Im going to pull it apart when I wake up and I will report back. Thanks for your time.

I have already established that the fuse blows. I will try it but im not sure its going to get me any futher ahead then being out the 50 cents for the fuse. Im almost certian its the wiring to the rad fan. I will let you know in the morning what happens once i trace that wiring into the harness. Thanks for your time again as well.
