Default IATV cleaned/tightened - Loose already

Alright, so I took my IATV out and cleaned it and it was completely unthreaded from the threads. I re-threaded it down and my idle was instantly lowered back to normal. Now, after about 1-2 months it's beginning to idle weird. My question is, when I open it up again, can I just tighten the IATV all the way down until it's completely tight? Or what should I do.

Thanks.

It might work to put a small amount of silicone sealer at the top thread to keep the adjuster from backing up.

That's what I was thinking. That or some teflon tape. Not sure how well that would hold up, though!

There is only intake air passing thru the upper part of the valve, until the wax plunger/brass cone warms up and seats.
Then the extra air is cut off.

Yeah. I took it apart in hopes of finding the un threaded plunger piece, but it was still in there very snug. Cleaned it and put it back in, still having the idle problem. Any other ideas? If this helps, the other day my power steering line starting leaking so I took one from a 95 Accord that the line was braised(sp?) and fixed the problem. Well there was fluid ALL over the engine bay and hood so I went to the car wash and sprayed some engine degreaser and then washed it off. Just thinking maybe this caused a problem?

I'm also reading my Chilton's book to see what vaccum leak it could be.

Any thoughts/other things to look at?
