Default Catalytic Converter for '98 Accord

So I am having stuttering issues with my '98 Accord V6. Brought it to the dealer and they are recommending replacing the cat. Not a problem except they want to charge $997.00, not including labor. I am looking up parts online and they are coming in at $150 - $250 for a new cat. Why is there such a big price difference between aftermarket vs. OEM. Part number is 18160P8C305. Please help and give me some feedback. BTW first post in this forum so be easy on me.

dont ever go to the stealerships.. 1000 bucks for a cat.. tell them to shove it up their ****.. im sure you can go to a shop by your house for a fifth of that price. or even by a cat and do it yourself
