so my integra 96 ls has been ticking when the idel gets over 1500 rpms and i took it to the shop they took the valve cover off and adjusted the valves and said they were very loose i drive it home today and the ticking is still happening.. do i have to let the motor adjust to the new valve tension i took the car up to about 4000rpms at the highest when i shifted on the way home and it was about a 10 to 15 minute drive home. so please help me out.

 

If the shop adusted the valves w/o letting the car cool off for at least 3 hours, then either take it back to them and have them readjust the valves for free, this time after letting the car cool down. Or take it to another shop that knows what they are doing.

 

why what would happen if the car did not sit for a while and cooled down?

 

its best if the car is cool cause everything is settled

 

the car sat for about 3 days i guess they pulled the car into the garauge than worked on it than i will try to get an audio for you all.

 

could be a rod knock
