Default car got broken into (kind of)...a noob needs help please

So i guess my car didnt technically get "broken into" i think i might've just left the door unlocked...so all they jacked my P.O.S. stereo but left my i-pod (which probably works better and is worth more)...anyways the real issue...my car wont start...i turn to III and nothing happens(no clicking or nething)...they took apart my steering column covers (bottom cover was in the car...top one is gone) I dont know too much about cars, but everything looks intact, none of the wires look cut or ripped out or anything.
Any ideas what it could be and how much it would cost me?

they probably jammed a flathead screwdriver in your ignition and if no wires are cut it's probably your ignition if your battery didnt die from dome light being on all night...

just start off w/ testing your battery, if your car was open all night it would drain it enough to not be able to start, if thats not the case then move onto the ignition.

fosho...hopefully that's the case. I called Acura and they said it'd be $488 to replace the ignition switch...does that sound about right or is that a rip-off?

if you go to dealer its always like bending over, try going to auto parts store and seeing what they have to offer,
maybe a lock smith?

If the ignition is out, I would suggest hitting up a local scrap yard for an ingnition. Let's hope it's the battery! GL
