oem>aftermarket
i am now on my second pair of the jdm blackhousing headlights for my second civic (one pair per each civic), and both times i had bought these headlights off of ebay within the next two weeks or so, the headlights get condensation in them say from washing my car. Im wondering maybe i should just go with oem. but i love the style of the blackhousing, but for legit ones they just seem a little bit to pricey, can anyone let me know whether this is just bad luck with ebay or is it just the fact that it is ebay? thanks in adv!
Its real simple man, and honestly, what do you have to lose. if it doesnt work out, your back to your plan of getting oe's.
Real simple. Preheat your oven to 350 or so. Once it gets to temp, TURN OFF the oven and put the housing in for 3-5 minutes. The sealant will soften and use a flat head to gently pry the lense off. I recommend butyl window sealant to seal it back up. To seal back up, do the same oven preheat, and put a bead of sealant around the edge. Put the housing back in for a minute or 2 just to soften it all up and press the lense back on. Wrap it with tape until it cools to room temp just to ensure it is all sealed.
