Default My First Build, Dyno Results. Suggestions please.

Well this was my first motor build, and I am pleased with the performance of the car, but I feel like my numbers could be a little better when compared to similiar builds.

I am aware that not all dyno's read the same, but I was wondering if there was a flaw in my combination of products that would produce some better results. Here is a part list:

B18c1 block
GSR Head
-3 angle valve job
-port and polish
Jdm ITR Pistons
Full Skunk2 Pro Valvetrain
S2 Pro1 cams
Buddy Club Head Gasket
AEBS Intake Manifold
Hytech Replica Header
STOCK THROTTLE BODY (Getting a 62mm or 64mm soon)
2.5 K-teller exhaust
OBX twin loop muffler
Tuned on Hondata s200

I made 185 whp and 121 tq.

All suggestions, criticism, and questions are welcome.

Also, I am having a problem with my IAC so the tuner said he didnt get as slightly aggressive as he would have liked to.

can you shrinke the pic a bit please? setup seems fine but like you get a bigger throttle body, i think you should get a 68 or 70 mm though seeing that you have cams . just curious are you using a gsr head also?(u only said block)

GSR Head? Stock or ported head?
Not sure about the ABES Intake Manifold on a GSR head.
I have been doing some research on Headers and it seems that the Clones/Replicas do not make as much peak power and seem to be a bit weak in the mid range.
Get that bigger TB.
Over all the numbers seem pretty good. Got a graph with A/F on it?

Sorry... Gsr head with light port and polish. I heard the AEBS was a good match with the angled runners of a gs-r head. I dont have the a/f graph, but the tuner said they were spot on.

Decent numbers for what you have. DON'T put a 68-70mm throttle on your setup it would make no sense thats too big.

Cam gear tuning? If none, i'd expect some more after.
AFR chart?
Power carries well into the deep 8k range probably could rev it out to 9200rpms and still make some.
Its something you dont see, a smooth graph with no dip, whoever tuned it did a good job.
Stock TB is probably hendering some type of power, i'd look into a 65mm or a JDM R TB w/e is easier on your pocket book.
That manifold i would assure you is doing you bad as well.. Looking into the pX manifold, great for 1.8 builds. other then that, it looks good.. try dropping the exhaust and see how much you make

I know little about tuning, but adjusting the timing maps isnt the same as tuning the cam gears, correct? Do you think the extra bends incorporated into the twin loop create any restriction?

correct. Ignition timing (on the laptop screen) is when the spark should start before TDC. cam gears adjust when the valves open and close.

Very nice. I would look at getting a professional products 65 or 68 mm TB.

Ok ok. well I have the adjustable S2 cam gears, but I wasnt sure that i saw the tuner adjust anything on the cam gears.

I am def getting a bigger throttle body and will probably try out a victor x manifold

whp numbers are decent, but, that thing takes forever to make power.... and it peaks so late in the graph. i'm sure after the cams are degree'd and the maps are re-tuned, everything should improve quite a bit. i would honestly dial in the motor b4 u start swapping parts. u haven't extracted the most out of this current set up yet

i suspect that the victor x will not perform well on your 1.8L with its fat plenum and short fat runners , maybe u should try the performer X like Integra type-R stated. I wouldnt worry about changing IMs yet tho as there are other things u can do first to improve what u currently have. Nice start though

What is a "light" port and polish?

With the right valve job and port shape for those cams, along with a bigger Intake Mani and TB, I see 15-20hp.

Im sorry, i did mean the performer manifold.

I guess the true test will be on the track. I kinda want to wait for a jdm itr tranny first.

why do people always go for the Pro series cams in such mild setups . I think the Tuner stage 2's would have made more power. When I had a simular setup as yours, I was pusing 192/132 on Tuners.

Mild? My estimated compression was right in the zone for the pro1's.

Their is a lot more to it then just compression to justify running big cams.

I understand that. I researched similiar setups and it seemed as if many people were using the pro1's with great success.

Their good cams if your setup can support them. Their is still a good amount of power left in that setup with a few changes in some parts like already mentioned.

interesting results... my setup is very similar to yours, and i wanted to go with pro1's too. i guess that might not be the best option now.
