I did it a couple weeks ago on my 91 rex, I 've had a problem with what sounds like a solenoid clicking rapidly when the ac is turned on. Can't tell if it's that or the pump, but the ac does seem to be working. The low pressure ports fitting leaks though. Howver it seems to be a small leak because fitting the dust cap seems to contain the leak. So not exactly high quality.

mine didn't have separate bottles for oil, each canister contains coolant mixed with a slight leak stopper, and some oil I imagine

I believe I used about 1-1 1/2 cans, used the rest to top off the other cars in the driveway, and I can buy more cans as needed

make sure you use at least a little of the oil that came with the kit, or else your compressor will seize up over time....your best bet would be to take the car to a shop that can do a/c servicing, and have them evaquate all the r-12 that may or may not be in your system, and have them pressure test the system for leaks...but if your dead set on doing it yourself, dont let any r-12 release to the atmosphere, not only is it "illegal" but the cfc's only contribute to our global warming woes...

yea what he said. you need to take it someone who has the unit which hooks up to your a/c lines and takes all the remaining r12 out. not just that but you need it to pull a vaccum on the system. if you try to put r134 in without having a vaccum pulled on the system then its not going to work
