crome - http://www.tunewithcrome.com/recommendation.html
everything can be found for less if you want to search and piece everything together yourself.
good source for a "kit" --> http://www.xenocron.com/catalo....html

To be a Hondata tuner all you need is RomEditor4 and a chip burner.
RomEditor 4 is $195 from Hondata:

I would highly recommend the Moates Burn1 ($85):

You can also burn Crome chips with the Burn1
Net investment: $280.
If you want to tune in real time, as opposed to burning a new chip every time you make a change, the Moates Ostrich is a very nice emulator:

The Ostrich is $175 and well worth the investment if you tune a few cars.
A wideband oxygen sensor, a dyno, a good laptop, and some experience would also come in handy
That is true for any engine management solution though.

The s200 were discontinued in January of this year. I'm not sure how much longer they'll support them or the ROMeditor software. Just something to think about when you consider purchasing technology of any kind.

Please don't post false information...only the s200 was discontinued. The s100 is still available. The s300 replaces the s200 with more features, is much easier to use and is cheaper for all it can do compared to everything needed with an s200 to be able to tune yourself.

This depends on what kind of chip you are using. With the most common sst512 chips you can reburn them.

<FONT COLOR="darkblue">I honestly think all of the software available for OBD1 honda ecu's serve their purpose. If you want to tune one car for fairly cheap then I would go with Neptune or eCtune. If you plan on tuning a bunch of cars on a budget and you are trying to make money tuning then you should go with CromeDealer because you pay a one time fee of $450 and you can tune as many cars as you want. Hondata is the best if you don't mind spending a bit more for onboard datalogging. Other than the datalogging feature from my experience Hondata-Neptune-eCtune are all on about the same level and crome is right behind them. If crome ever gets a properly functioning boost controller then things will really start to get interesting. But for now the others have crome beat when tuning a turbo car that requires a boost controller.</FONT>
crome needs an active owner equal to Neptune and eCtune. that is its greatest downfall. When you need help and you bought Pro through John and you need a new string, it could be weeks before you are back up and running unless you buy another registration key through xenocron, who does have excellent customer service.

I have been saying Jon needs to let someone take over crome for a few months now... He should at least let someone more active be in charge of renewing/replacing registration strings.
