EXPO 8: 94rs-turbo needs your help!
My good friend Chase, 94rs-turbo, has experienced a rod knock in his ITR that he was going to drive to VIR, 1 week before Expo. He is currently down in the dumps. Says he doesnt want to go anymore. I told him, he can ride with me (in the comfy dually) to VIR and co-pilot my ITR in his class, since we are both in different classes.
Chase, remember Expo 5? We installed my motor, put half of the car back together in 6 hours of work, 124412214214 Monsters/Amp/Redbulls later, we left on time!! All done the NIGHT BEFORE DEPART FOR EXPO 5!? This is the same feeling, he is bummed out and wants to forfeit his spot entirely!
CMON CHASE!!! Have a good time!!! I need some motivational speeches everybody!!!!!

Pull the pan. Check where the rod knock is from and go from there. If it is just the bearings. Clean the motor. Replace the bearings and pick-up tube if neccessary and be on the way. See how bad it is first. Happened to me when my car had 70,000 miles. Slapped on new bearings according to the color codes. New pick-up tube and she is still currently running strong at 110,000 and still counting. Check it first before it gets worst.
Come on, you have plenty of time to find out what the problem is. I wish I had an offer like migs last year when I was Expo and my tranny let go. Expo is way too much fun to just not go!!!

IMO of course! I suppose my opinion is a tad biased though
.
Chase... hope you change your mind.

Absolutely
There's still plenty of time to fix heR up and drive to Exbo with your own caR. I've read a number of stories of guys finishing rebuilds the night before leaving and then "breaking-in" the motor on the caravan
Even if you can't bring your own caR, migs offer is gold. Please make it out to VIR mang, Expo is more about meeting/shootin the **** with people who have the same passions as you and possibly making lifelong friends
No more will people just be screennames and avatars on some trashy site
BTW, Dave_B's eyes really don't look like that

You can do it!!!!
I have lost count the number of times I have had some major repairs going on days before exbo. One year I had my entire bottom end apart (fixing a spun bearing), sitting on the garage floor a few days before exbo. I finally got it together only to discover my main seal was leaking. Nothing like dropping the tranny at 2am the day before exbo.. I finally got everything back together, showered, and left for exbo..

Migs and Chase... check your voicemails.
I have a solution...somewhat.
Man.... why do all of my solutions always involve me towing ???
... Ask BlueR and DanGSR when I "solved" some of their issues.

You should definitely come regardless of what you decide. Fix it or come along anyway and drive Mike's car
