94 Accord - how to tell if the Rad is Toyo or Denso?
The vehicle info is below in my signature:
Q: How do you determine if the radiator is a Toyo or Denso ???
A: The toyo fan is 4 blades, the Denso fan has 5 blades. The fan, shroud, and rad all need to match in order to fit. I tried a Denso 5 blade fan on a Toyo shroud and it don't work, not without annoying painstaking mods. Not worth the BS effort. But if you need fans and shrouds, then you can switch to the other brand; However, there is one thing I am not sure of: if the condenser fan fits either or if that is specific.
I need a replacement and I am not keeping this vehicle, just getting it ready for sale. Any recommnedations? What about "theradiatorconnection" [out of Connecticut] on eBay. for $14.95 + $40 shipping. Made in China. It is an aluminum core with plastic tanks. Seller says it fits either style oem rad. It's probably crap, but maybe not, hence, my raising the question here.
PS. Since I posted this original question, I found the answer and edited the post.
Btw, I have a denso fan and shroud if anyone needs one. You can get it real cheap.

Are you serious?
Ask yourself this question, if 99% of the radiators people buy are 100+ and you buy a $15 one, what do you think the quality will be?
And any radiator from 94-97 is most likely Denso and will fit.

Yeah I am! Uh, this is a Honda ask-questions website the last time I looked.
As for quality: Recently I attempted to repair the Brass/Copper OEM, and discovered the are literally a POS - could be made any thinner and they literally were corroded far beyond what they should have been or they were just crap to begin with. Now, as for supposedly high quality Racing radiators, like the Koyo for example, you seem to be deluded that you are getting much more for your $, when in fact upon examination the tubes and fins are not any different in terms of size, capacity, or thickness. And when have you ever known a Rad tank/header to go bad!?
So, yeah I am serious asking this question, especially since Honda was made in the orient and the Japs are known for sub-third world-outsourcing of the parts they put on their vehicles, regardless of specifications. Ever look inside a Sony TV, supposedly the definitive standard for televisions - the God____ circuit are made in China -- So, btw, what radiator company do you work for?
Granted Snap-on tools are better than China ones, but hey, even Snap-on is now producing tools made in China, and they are a darn good value. Are the US made ones better, yeah but not 10 times better, though they cost 10 times more.

IN MANY CASES THAT I'VE RUN INTO IN THE PAST WITH EITHER DENSO OR TOYO ARE HOW THE ENGINE COOLING FANS ARE MOUNTED TO THEM..
A. EITHER BOLT MOUNTED TO THE RADIATOR
B. OR CLIP ON FAN ASSEMBLY...
NOT 100% SURE BUT THATS WHAT IVE SEEN MANYS A TIMES

I bought my radiator from them, but it was a full aluminum with aluminum tanks as well. Decent to deal with, but I had to make a little modification to my car for it to fit well. It was not a PERFECT fit. I e-mailed them about fixing that issue.

All aluminum - never heard of them, but I could go for something like that for sure - Sounds good. I wonder who has them ?
