hi all,
hi all, i have a problem with my coilovers. its the skunk2 pro series coilovers. the adjusting rings are seized up to the sleeves. any helpful ways i can try to TRY and get them to twist again? thx
yeah man, best way that i've seen this taken care of was by taking off my complete strut assembly, and sprayed PB Blaster all over the threads above/below the adjuster, let it soak for about 10-15 minutes, than started goin at it again and within like 5 minutes they were unlocked and adjusting properly... You could probably do this on the car, but I just wanted more elbow room so I took the 20 minutes to take them off as a bit of a helper considering how long it'd take me with them still on the car... Also, try both directions not just up or just down, try raising and lowering ya know, might help the threaded part get back on track and get the lubrication more surface area.... GL dude..
They're not really frozen, they're just stuck because sand and dirt particles get in there.
Pressurewashing the coilovers now and then will help with that, or like he said, disassemble the whole works and soak 'em in lube.

Partially correct on this one... Don't forget about some of those cheaper kits that offer low grade quality metal that over time creates our dear friend "rust" lol.. I've seen some pretty ugly coilovers rusted together due to faulty components or $20 coilovers from ebay haha, not a pretty site...
