Default Rubber couplers vs. silicone

Guys,

I need a 45 degree bend 3" diameter rubber pipe coupler. I don't want to use silicone cause I don't need it that strong for the intake side of the turbo. But space is tight so I need the bend.

Or maybe 90 degree bend and I can cut to get 45 degree.

Where can I find them. Everywhere I go they offer me silicone bends which is about 40 bucks or more.

its not that you need silicone for the pressure, it's that rubber will dry out and crack/decompose. It won't maintain it's structure under the heat in the engine bay and will fail. Don't want rubber chunks getting sucked into your turbo, do you?

This one is on the intake side.

I don't think those rubber will dry out within 3-5 years so I should be fine.

Anyone knows how to get the rubber couplers?

If you read my original post, the question i ask is not contrasting the two, but where to get the rubber parts.

/life... Seriously wonderful contribution, moron.

I was in this same boat, instead of trying to find one, I cut two 3" pipes at 22.5* angles and welded them together. Since a 3" intake can flow more than enough, a 45* bend will be far from a restriction. Otherwise you could do 3-4 pieces as a pie-cut, and still have perfect flow with an even tighter radius.

I must say the same goes to you. Instead of your contribution you resorted to personal insults. But thank you for the feedback anyway ..
