Default Cast iron welding?

I tried searching but couldn't really find a good result. I want to weld a v-band flange adapter to my exhaust housing but I'm not sure of what rod to use? And would this be strong enough? Thanks

they make a cast iron SMAW rod. you can just brake off the flux coating and use that. then maybe go over it with a nice high nickel content rod such as Monel rod if you want. just make sure you pre-heat and slow cooling rate by throwing it in a bucket of sand or wraping a towel over it.

a tip for welding cast iron is to heat it up... like 400 or so

If you don't it will most likely crack and it won't weld well but tig it with the stick wire and you should be fine.
