89 crx with minimi swap. alternator needs to be replace...ok how do i even start unbolting?? how many bolts and wat special tools are needed?

 

normally this is when people give u smart *** remarks.... but you just need to sockets, dont remember the size sorry but no special tools.

but its only two bolts you have to mess with.

1. the "Tension Bolt" that is on the top of the alternator, the bolt goes thru a groove that allows it to slide so when you unbolt this, you can rock the alternator back and forth.

2. the alternator "thru bolt" is on the bottom, about a 4 inch bolt with a nut on one that you have to remove, with a little bit of wiggling of the alternator this bolt will come out. during all of this, you can remove the belt after step 1.

to install reverse the order.

 

Im pretty sure the tensioner bolt is a 12mm and the lower bolt is either a 14mm or 17mm
