for some reason in the past month or so my car has died while im driving twice. i just had the 150k recall done back in december. i do however have a 1200 watt amp that has been in my car since september, i dont know if that matters or not. but if thats the case im sellin that bitch!(amp/sub) thanks
dude have u checked ur alt? i know i had the same problem awhile back and my alternator had its points fried because of the power consumption. so u might want to take a look at it at the auto part store.

if i were to get a new one how much would it be and how long would it last with my current setup. i might just sell my setup and get a 200rms amp then, or would i still need a new alternator. would a capacitor be an option?

had the recall done on your ignition switch?

when the contacts go bad, your key/ignition thinks it is in the off position, so it shorts and cuts power.....not sure if that's the case, however, if it is.....when it dies for good....i.e. won't start again, try turning the key between the start and on position, you have to turn it half way......like don't let it turn back to the on position.....
if that's the case hope this helps.....
fyi the ignition switch comes apart (needs to come apart to go in)

what models is the recall for?im guessing its free and is there a mile limit to this recall like the emisions one(150k)? this is great! i love getting free stuff done to my car!
The problem was with 5th Gen Accords (94-97)
Not sure if it is still active, but the recall was for 1997 models. It's an easy fix though.....might take....20-30 mins.
Steering Column Cover Off, Unscrew The Switch.....Remove the clip. Pull it apart, put on the new one

I got a redtop that's been going strong for three years....i can leave my head lights on for 2 days.....and it doesn't kill the battery....
