When I first got my teg I was getting 19-21 mpg. I switched the cat, got platinum plugs, and changed the air filter. I also noticed my o2 sensor wasn't plugged in tight. Now I get 27-29 mpg. Check on a couple of those.

you will probably notice the best increase in mileage with a new front o2 sensor. But a basic tune up- plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter will also do you a lot of good.

i get 36 mpg highway on mine. 32 mixed.

check your alignment, tire air pressure, air filter, o2 sensor, right oil viscosity(5w-30) lots of other stuff too but those are some simple ones.

i geta about 350 to a tank. i changed my fuel filter and wires. im alson on a test pipe. I just changed my plugs to platinum plugs but havent filled up. i was getting 160 to a tank before i changed my fuel filter and my car was also running like ****. no matter how bad ur plugs and wires and **** like that u shouldnt be that low, check all ur vacume lines make sure they r going to the right place the diagram is on the back of the hood. i was geting 160 till i relized the map sensor hose was going to the wrong place. it doubled my gas mileage after that.

ALright sounds like an great idea. I already order my O2 Sensor, NGK wires, NGK spark plugs, AEM Fuel Filter, and dizzy cap. Hope this works out well cause gas is killing everyone!

It really depends a lot on your driving too besides the technical aspect (although I'm sure you're having some issues with numbers that low, and not driving like a dick lol)

But even subtle changes in your driving habits will yield greater mileage. I make sure to not drive above 60 on the freeway anymore (I used to drive around 70 on the freeway). By doing this you get about 15% better mileage, or so I've heard. I haven't actually done the calculations myself. Furthermore, I always shift at the recommended shift points while accelerating smoothly away from stop lights rather than shifting at, say, 4,000 RPM. On city streets I push my car to about 40 MPH where the RPM's in 4th gear are at 2,500, or on longer city roads where there are no stop lights, I push it up to 48-50 and cruise in 5th. (I know, bad. haha)

I have this happen to me a while back and it was the O2 sensor. Didn't get no check engine light or nothing only Bad bad gas milage. Took off the O2 sensor the **** was cover in Carbon Deposit, couldn't see a single hole on the O2, it was all plug-up in carbon deposit. manual said to replace them every 30K or 50K i think. also buy the Denso O2 sensor and not those cheapy on ebay or autozone.

you really don't need a AEM fuel filter, just a regular one will work fine. Don't forget to check your air filter too. And make sure you change your oil on time

where you live also plays a big role.

if you live in a hilly area where theres a lot of load on your engine, and you need to stay in lower gears to help you make it up those hills, then of course you're never going to get good mileage.

other factors (asides the ones already mentioned) like:
- the weight of your car (who knows, maybe you drive a lot with passengers and you have a 3 15" subs taking up your trunk)
- rolling resistance (tire pressure, wheel bearing condition, alignment)
- parasitic losses in your engine (how often you run with the a/c on, how much electrical load - again, loud stereo, bad grounds etc, belt tension)
- do you drive with your windows up or down (it adds up)
- do u have a ricer *** wing adding crazy downforce

theres more...but u get the idea

most people that suffer from bad gas mileage are cheap as far as maintenance so here are the cheapest things to do/check...

first investment should be k&n air filter=smooth air flow, smooth gas flow ecu throws into combustion chamber
drive "as needed"...gas is primarily decided by throttle position sensor in combination of o2 sensor-if accelerating, make sure you ARE taking it to 3.5-3.8 rpms in appropriate gear--if not accelerating rapidly then make sure your in that higher gear at lower rpms
run seafoam-$7
tire allignment-$65
tire pressure-free
use shell or chevron gas
less electrical load
clean iacv, replace gasket-$2
change dizzy cap and rotor-$30
full tune up besides fuel filter-$100
