Default transmission grind?

my transmission makes the famous 3rd gear crunch.... well it didnt do that at first... then it only did it when i would shift from 1st to 3rd and then it eventually did it all the time... so i took it to the track and did 5 runs and then on my way home from the track i realized that the crunch was gone? so whats the deal with that... you think it will come back? at first i was like well the syncro is going bad... but then this happened and its been gone since... so i dont know... any ideas...

Maybe there was shrapnel caught up in it or something.

I don't think i've ever shifted from 1st to 3rd before.

i only shifted from 1st to 3rd b/c the car can pull right through it and i shift from 3rd to 5th... i mainly do this if im eating while driving and or talking on the phone... or i just simply dont feel like going through the gears... so you think it fixed it self... i also have motor oil in there only b/c i want it to like flush the trans out... and trust me i have honda mtf just waiting to go in... so dont jump my ****..

i dont really believe in things jsut "fixing" themselves, i would change the fluid and check for any debris/metal particals in it. it should come out pretty much as clear as it went in. as for the oil, ive found that the honda trans fluid is the best thing to put in there, 5W30 will work but not as well especially if you 'drive' your car. and btw never use synthethic in your trans, itll cause grinds all the time. i would put in the honda mtf and stick with it. never switch oils around, your trans doesnt like that.
