Default Where To Start?

my car has been having issues..
it tends to seem like its going to turn off
the RPM drops below 500 sometimes while turning or reversing
even when in idle its at about 500 give or take some..
sometimes below sometimes above
the car feels "tired"

so.. where should i start?

info:
- new (used) motor (5months ago? o.O maybe more)
- recently changed timing belft(1month or 2 ago)
-messed up right arm and things in there (car pulls to the right) from hitting cement thing on freeway (hasn't been an issue yet)
- i got a car stereo
- just changed battery to a blue optima
- i got HIDs
- i got aftermarket foglights
- got rear ended (1yr ago?)

any idea would help...

just throwing it out there... can it be my alternator?

thanks

EDIT: problem becomes HUGE when A/C is on.. it DOES turn off.. but only when making a turn

It would be helpful to those people trying to answer your questions if you would provide the year and model information.

In general, low idle problems can be caused by the IACV, or the screen of the IACV, and build up of contamination around the throttle plate area.

Were you able to check the timing after the new belt was installed?

Try this link. The pictures are from Integra, but it is very much similar to Honda. I used it to find mine (96 Accord).
