Default UK Rich 1.6 16v Hatch

Well i've wanted a 4g for Ages and not bein happy with the looks or handling of my starlet gt i decided to sell up. The plan originally was to find a nice UK vt or get a jdm EF9 but as im impatient in waiting for the right car to come up i just bought the first one offered to me lol.

Its a UK 1.6 16v with the DOHC D16a9 (ZC is US equivalent i believe) plans to change this in future.

It was a bit of a bargain or seemed so at the time lol (still is really) so i roadtripped it and got back with it with no drama. Apart from having to tape the bonnet closed.

The exhaust definitely needed sorting as it was hanging down like crazy so i got that sorted (partially) and im now doing the brakes as theyre werent any left.

As soon as i got it i slapped the rays on to see how they looked. definitely needs a good drop though.

Then the work began

Started stripping unprimered paint

The pads

After that i managed to get hold of a few rear end parts so managed to get the rear back to how it should be.

Bit of an update, still couldnt do the brakes so got the rear panels on instead, startin to look how i want it, next is suspension, brakes, midwing, arches, braces, and door cards :? mission

Bumper off, as you can see its not very clean at the back

New tailgate, rear bumper and mid panel all in the right colour

will look better with plate on, need to tidy that plate holder thing up too

sprayed the interior up and put another seat as one is just not good for me. Also carpeted the foot wells for a bit of comfort, still a lot more to come over next few days though. Next thing is get two seats the same and a standard drivers seatbelt as the harnesses jus arent safe imo with the standard seat.

Im now looking at gettin another so i can do a full strip down and rebuild on it and once its done do the same to this one. the idea is to have one for track and one for daily. The daily one will be greatly inspired by Woody's as its now my favourite ef of all time lol.

thanks for reading, comments and criticisms welcome, Rich

How noisy is it on a drive? I got nasty nasty nasty carpet in my car and I want to gut it but I don't want to be deaf when i'm 40 either.
