Default jdm coversion???

i recently bought a dc2 and just got in my jdm front yesterday. i want to do it myself just to save a little cash so i can paint afterwards. i been searching about DIY jdm conversion... i seen different ways to do it. some just take the top rad support off and some just take the whole rad support on the usdm... just wondering which one is easier and less convenient. if anybody by a chance come to a write up on the conversion please send me link.....

i did mine myself, and took off the entire rad support. it wasn't hard, just time consuming... if my original rad support was in good condition, i woulda just taken off the T section of it. it seems easier.

there is a very good write up on how to do a jdm conversion on here, just search for it.

yea, but it's nothin a hand saw can't do. you just have to cut a little bit of sheet metal where the headlight wraps around to the side of the car because it wont fit. hold on, i'll look for the write up that i followed.

i can't find the write up... i swear it's on h-t somewhere... but anyways, this is the part where you have to cut for the jdm headlights to fit:

I did the T part of the rad support and it worked out fine, i just marked where the old rad support was and mocked up the spot welds first.
Then i took an angle grinder with a cutting blade and chopped off the extra portions on the frame rail where the headlights bump into. I did it in a day and a half. 0 experience for me in this area.

I just replaced the entire radiator support, air chssled the old one out, vice gripped the new one in, lined it up, then welded it into place.... you can gut that whole peice , or just cut what you need out..

You can still keep the A/C. As for the hood cable you have to buy either a 92-95 Civic, 90-93 Integra, or 90-93 Accord. The T-bar you can just drill it out and put on 10mm nut and bolt. It's very sturdy but I would still recommend welding it.

its a big project to do yourself and you have to do measurements...

if your not sure on how to do it then pay a shop, if you dont do the measurments right then your whole front end is gonna be crooked and funny looking.

Not really. On here there i a thread about doing it yourself. A person can always change out the T-bar.

Would it matter if the radiator support that i have on right now is bent? I would imagine not since I would be cutting it out and putting the JDM one on anyways.

+1. Not to sound too sarcastic, but there is a reason why the manufacturer welded on the radiator core support.
