**** man, I bought my '92 for $350.00 Non-running and minor front end damage. It didn't take much to get it running but I'd have paid $600 for a non-running parts car.

BUY IT, it is a steal, run don't walk, pay cash!

if that's all it needs and the body is pretty good, go for it!

a word of caution though, many cars that have a list of serious issues that need to be fixed also have a longer list of minor issues that can add up and kill your budget. i recommend to anyone, even a very capable enthusiast to take the car to a honda speciallist to have it checked out before you buy. sellers that aren't cool with this may be hiding something... not worth it.

i've seen so many people bring their car to the shop a week after buying it (instead of the week before) and find that they have another $3000 to put into it to get it into the shape they thought it was in when they bought it.

I happen to agree. I buy/sell cars quite frequently and usually you're like "and all I gotta do is..." - and then you run into some minor problems and they add up until you got screwed out of it.

Example: I picked up a tercel for 500 from a friend (high mileage) in good condition, I only intended on spending 500 on it as he said it was good - and it was, but after all the minor **** I did to get it the way it should be (new brakes all around, needed new front struts, but wasn't imperative, just felt like I had no steering on the highway, etc.) I'm into the car for 1200 at the current time (less the 500 buy). For a car that's in "good" condition - I sunk more than I wanted to on that car.

Though my situation with that car wasn't too bad, as I still have a fully functional car pulling 50mpg on the highway for 1200 bucks. Although it's burning a bit of oil now (my guess is blow-by) so I might be looking for a new 5E-FE sometime soon.

Though I know lots of other people who have fallen into that trap, and gotten screwed because of it. I've seen in the shop countless times **** like: Somebody bought a new car, they bring it to the shop, they said the previous owner said that it only needs a timing belt & water pump, then you rip it all apart to find bent valves and such (it looked like somebody put a new timing belt on wrong and tried cranking it over) and after it was all said and done, after having the entire head rebuilt she had to put like 2k into the car.

EDIT:
If it's a project ca rand not a daily driver then sure, go for it.
