i see these posts pretty often, and I wonder if rusty latches are to blame for these cables breaking?
phatboycrxhf once you get the hood open could you check to see if your latch is rusted?

This has happend to me in the past! Its a real bit*h to get it open but its possible. No need to sawsaw anything. The way Ive done it in the past is I get a new replacement wire from the local junkyard. Jack the car up a bit. Stick your hand in through the grill with wire in hand. Make sure that you have the right end in hand. From the bottom of the car looking up you will see the latch with a small hole through the bracket. Try to put the wire in there and the ball end of it should hold on. Thats a pain in the *** but hey.Thats the way ive opened it in the past without damagin anything. Good luck

thanks for the reply bud
i got it now ,i just pulled the front bumper off to get a good look at it and to see how the whole thing works and what not ,the i just took a flat screw driver and turned the area where the wire should have been .
grog
it does look like rust was the problem for my latch /hood cable breaking ,it allmost seems like the rust builds up around the area where the cable attches too makeing / causeing the cable to go under greater tension when trying relase the latch ....
i'll take pics and what not ,like a write up type deal because even though there is a few posts about this it doesnt really say how to fix the problem ,other then mess around untill you get it haha
