hole in my transmission??
yes i've searched, basically i had a clutch installed 3/7/08 & just last week i've been noticing it's hard to put it in 1st, 3rd, and 5th pops out while freeway driving.. it also sounds like a conveyor belt is running, or tires rubbing sound...
so i take it in to honda, i have a hole in my tranny the size of a dime, no scrape marks on or near it, plus it's not on the bottom, it's vertical from the ground.. so a honda mechanic said, "maybe when clutch mart installed the clutch while hammering the shift linkage out they might have hit my tranny or dropped it".. all in all i have no tranny fluid it all leaked out.. they are only open m-f
my question is, is there a file i can claim against them through bar? if they don't accept responsibility, can i patch it temporarily? if not, how long can i drive it til i find another tranny?
cliff notes:
hole in tranny: maybe clutch marts fault: need temporary fix til i get a new one.
thanks for your help..

So you took your car to the shop and had work performed and then this happened??
If so i'm sure you can file a claim against them..
I wouldn't drive the car if i were you without tranny fluid.. Your going to ruin the gears, syncros, everything..
I'm not sure on a temp patch either.. i guess maybe you could try JBweld or something.. i wouldn't rely on it though..
Goodluck.

You should be able to file a claim against these guys who did your clutch. If there was damage to your transmission previous to the job they should have told you straight especially since a new clutch won't be any good if your transmission is dead or about to blow up. Shops usually carry a 90 day warranty (or at least good shops). If your fluid is all gone you might be cautious about keeping the transmission you have now. Good luck
I am a welder by trade and if you can see the whole it can be fixed. Just look up a machine shop in your area and they should be able to help you out. If it is welded it will hold up for a lot longer than jb weld or anything else. Of course I would only do so if the company does not come good for it. p.s It probably wont cost a whole lot for a whole that size. It will have to be tig welded.

thanks for your input, i brought it in today for them to look at, they seem pretty cool about it.... they won't give me any answers just yet, but they'll let me know if they accept responsibility tomorrow after they look at it. i'm sure there's has to be internal damage riding without tranny fluid for the last week especially... all the gears were grinding
hopefully it's an easy fix.
