gasket question

Default gasket question

hey i was wanting to take off my valve cover and paint it and my dad started pitching a fit saying something about if i take it off i'll have to change the gasket and it got me to thinking. so i was jw if there is anything i need to be concerned with when taking off my valve cover regarding gaskets

Its under $15 for a felpro gasket with plug gaskets too. Just painted the valve cover yesterday.

When it comes to gaskets go with OEM

Yeah I looked it over and looks just like the stock one, fits really good too. If it decides to leak then its only 5 bolts and 5 minutes to replace. Just DON'T over tighten the valve cover bolts. I broke one off in the head luckily I was able to get it out.

where did you get your gasket?

did you order em or should somewhere like auto zone have it?
