Default Rear driver's side quater panel

I have a 94 Accord LX and the hole that hold the bumper up on the rear driver's side quarter panel has rusted a bit and the hole has broken.I've never welded anything ever but I have an idea to fix this problem.I was thinking about going to the junk yard and having a small section cut out from another Accord and have a buddy who welds, cut and patch it onto my car.Being that it's one big whole piece that runs along the top all the way up to the windshield,I figured that patching a piece would be easier that having the whole thing replaced.

I don't know if this is a common thing to do,but common sense would tell me that someone who knows what the hell they are doing wouldn't have that much or a problem with this.Am I on track of somewhat off base? After grinding the welds and repainting,it should come out o.k.,right?

i just got laid off from a junk yard and what your describing is a common problem, but you cant just get a small piece, a junk yard will sell you the whole rear quarter, think about $200-$300 depending on if you cut it or if they cut it.
I do however give you a cheaper option, you could just cut out the corroded material, and weld in a piece of steel, paint it quickly and use a crap load of bondo/filler to smooth the area. It will only cost about $50 for materials, it'll just take alot longer to get it smooth and upto par for that area is all, alot of elbow grease...
