haywire in tach?

haywire in tach?
my sister got a 97 accord, not modified or nothing, just bone stock, the v6, recenetly the tach has been jumpin, like the rpm needle goes up and down randomly? any ideas about the reason behind this? i think its just the sockets loose or what not, but the car doesn't JUMP wit it, so i know the engine is ok, just some electrical, thanks for the help

check for a loose electrical connection on the tachometer circuit. the plug on the instrument cluster and at the distributor and check ground. if all is good replace the tach
