Default EK CTR Grille Reviews?

I see knockoff CTR grilles going for real cheap on E-Bay

Is the fitment decent?

Anyone recommend me a cheap one from Ebay?

Thanks. I'm a newb with the EK's. Got one as a daily and tryin to clean it up.

I'm also an ek dd'er or whatever you want to call us haha! I have seen a couple of my buddies with the ebay grille and you can tell that its the ebay one. but if you dont mind really the only difference that I have noticed is that the mesh is flat on the ebay one and round on the real one

I have heard they are a hit and miss, some people have fine fitment while others have problems.

if you care about fitment, get OEM...if not streetstyler.com

i'd prefer OEM because i like things lining up.

OK. That settles it.

Best place to get one? Other than finding one FS on a forum?

OEM looks 10x better....

I have the knockoff on my EJ8 and i think it doesn't look half as bad...I payed $20, did a little spray paint and it came out decent. Fitment was actually decent, it does stick out a bit more than the OEM grille but not to the point where it looks bad. Once i save the money to get a new paint job, i'll def be searching for a CTR/EM1 grille.

here's some pics..

installed one on a friends car, popped the hood later that day (after daily driving) and the holes where the bolts go in had tore out.. 1 day.... go oem or go home honestly. good luck though

i'd def. recommend going oem but my knock off has held up for 3 1/2 years. Bolts in really snug and has not come loose.

For the ones with the two-piece 96-98 grilles, you can make a DIY grille. Search for it in the FAQs.

ebay grilles are crap.. the bottom part of the grill dont hook on to my bumper so its somtimes flapiing around when i drive, feels like its gonna break also... i was lucky enough to find a oem si grill for $30 and sold the ebay one for $25 ... not bad..
