Default magic additive that repairs cylinder walls and fixes piston ring seal!!!?

i see this stuff at local checkers, napa etc... i think you add it to your oil or something and it fixes up your compression with no side effects. anyone use this stuff? im curious because i currently have about 180k on my 96 hatch dx and tried to put synthetic in it for perhaps some better gas mileage and it pretty much just blew by. i dont know if it blew by the piston rings or valve guides but you cant get too good of gas mileage these days. let me know what u think!

There's some stuff called "restore" that you can buy at just about any auto parts store that says it will restore compression.. some people swear by these types of additives. I've tried it with nothing more than a placebo effect... Although if your experiencing oil loss due to blow-by, the high mileage oils help reduce that.
