Default Idle problem

Hi guys,

I have a 1998 Civic Si, after the car warms up, the rpms drop to 300 when I'm at a light or when I slow down. The rpms than climbs back to 750 after a few seconds. I've just changed the plugs and wires but I've had the problem before this was done. Any suggestions?

Alot of people have been having idle problems lately. Most common culprit is the IACV... idle air control valve. Type IACV in the search box and look at all the people who have posted on here who have had the same problem and how they fixed it. Most likely just needs to be cleaned. Easy fix if so. Hope this helps.

I cleaned out the IACV and it work. The idle needle is exactly where it should be. Thanks!

Glad it worked out for you - I had the same problem and cleaning the IACV fixed it like a charm.
