QUICK HELP: 97 gsxr 750, first real sportbike
hey guys!
well i was looking into sv650's to get back into riding again. i used to ride dirt, and some CB125 and 250 experience. im by no means a good rider. i found this gsxr 750 that needs a ton of work because its been down and i can get it for a really cheap price. do you guys suggest against it?
the only reason im doubting myself is the power of it (130hp) which is just as much as the current 600's and to me thats a **** ton of power. please put any inputs you wish
thanks in advance

Its only as fast as you want it to be. If you get a good deal on it and decide you don't want it, you might can just flip it and make some money if nothing else, just depending on what you fix and all that.
I honestly don't think it will be a bad bike to start on. It is a heavy bike with low power in today's standards. The older 750's are still extremely fast, so don't take that the wrong way. A good reccomendation is to pretend the redine is MUCH lower than it actually is. It will keep you out of trouble more than you think. That is how I learned.
The bike is a very potent bike but not a screamer. eep your hand out of the throttle and the rpm's down and you will be just fine.

thanks, if i get it im pretty sure i wont be hitting the redline anytime soon. with all the stuff ive seen around with people getting [freak]ed up for no reason im super hesitant to pull any stunts like that. like i said the fastest bike ive ridden was a 250 dirtbike. im gonna go look at it tommorow!

Just keep it under 7k and don't try and ride around like you're king **** and you'll be fine until you get used to the bike.
