Isnt viperdays insanely expensive?
FRIDAY TEST & TUNE: Friday will be open for "advanced drivers" for a test and tune day. 8:30-5:30 we will be running 2 run groups all day!! NO lunch $200 full day and $100 for half day after noon. Call Courtney for OK.
COST: $695.00 or $645.00 for VCA member* Event Upcharge - $50.00 (VCA # required)** for a registration/reception party at the track, two lunches, and a Saturday night banquet at the Stratford Inn, commemorative gift and extensive track time. One day entry $300 includes lunch!!
Honestly, I had never even heard of the event before. A fellow H-T member (thanks Diane) contacted me to tell me about it. The fees for Friday are $200 for the whole day, and $100 for driving after 12pm. If you think about it, that's not too bad if it's open track. Even if it's not open track, there are still only two run groups!

This is NOT an event for beginners. Be sure you are at least an experienced, solid advanced driver if you intend to sign up. This is the play day for the racers and instructors with the Viper Days folks. It is not a day for the person that's done 2 or 3 weekends of HPDEs.
r2x ~ who had done 8 weekends prior to her first Viper Days Friday, and was still scared stiff after the driver's meeting.

By the way, poorly driven Vipers ARE slow. Well driven ones are incredibly fast!

I'll be there in the C5. Hopefully I won't get left in the dust by all the HT racers, and Ms. Spec Miata herself.
Should be a fun time. I think some of the other irregulars will be there. Shultz will, regrettably, be spectating/riding since his car is <ahem> busted.

My car would need a windshield and a fixed header. Which means finishing the oil cooler (so I can get the beast on the trailer) which...means I'm out this weekend. I also now refuse to use "good tires" for a lapping day, having learned that lesson. So, not "busted," just waiting for some more TLC.
A pity, as I **really** want to roll some Vipers in my "busted" Integra that a coworker has called "that %&^ing hoopty."
"Is that thing turbocharged?"
"Um, no. Is yours?"

I'll be there. All the cool people will probably be pitted up in the covered false grid, like last year.
PS - this will be my inaugural tow! Last year at Viper Days I broke a rocker arm and Ron towed my car home for me. This time, I can tow it home myself after it breaks

After I caught and passed that turbo Miata (with that much unburned fuel spewing out of it, it *HAD* to be turbo) I noticed my temp gauge where it shouldn't be ever.
Doing compression test this week to see if head gasket is gone.

Yep, the black Miata had Boost!
I gave rides to two folks that didn't know (or care) what a Type R is. They were not impressed while buckling up, but were in total disbelief while lapping. What a truly remarkable car, I'm glad I found this car! My friend who owns the white/blue Spec Miata drove my car some on Saturday. He knows that I plan to gut it some day and make it a dedicated track/race car. After his session he emerged with a big

Granted a poorly driven car is slow. But a well driven and well prepared Viper is extremely fast...saying running a 2:01 at 170ish down the straights is scootin'. T'was fun to say the very least.
