Maybe you should actually measure the big ends of the rods and the crank journals.

PLASTIGAUGE SUCKS PLASTIGAUGE SUCKS PLASTIGAUGE SUCKS the real way to do it is to measure your crank and measure the big end of the rod then then subtract those two numbers and then the difference is the space between the crank and rod then go buy the bearings for the right size that will give you the clearence you need i used acl race bearings work great i hope you have a helm manual in front of you when you are puting this motor back together and i hope you have one this before there is nothing like a motor that is running with not oenough clearence for oil you will kiss that motor good buy

when you install arp rod bolts, you have to cut the cap..then install the bolt tq and resize back to what the original size was..so the quality is only going to be as good as the person doing it.

take the crank and rods to the machine shop that did the work and use their mics

rods dont get smaller when they are resized . it just fixes any out of round from bearing crush. have your machinist verify the hone.

i didntt have to cut my caps and i have arp rod bolts but that is how they do it cut the cap and go back in cut the meat more on the cap side barely touching the rod side b16a clearence is 0.0013-0.0020 but no more than 0.0024 which in reality is thinner than a peice of hair(0.003) are you sure you did not mix the rod and the caps up i know they have a number stamped on them but two or three rods can have same number is there something fishy about the machine shop that did work

Perhaps you are crushing the plastigage when you separate the rod caps?

Before you have any more machining done, have them measure the crank and rod bores, they should be able to tell you the correct clearances as others have already mentioned.

Close the thread, good night.
