Default 1984 Civic HB..how close to 88 is it?

Curious about how close the 84 Civic HB is to the 88 and newer. Have a chance to buy one cheap but wondering if its worth it. Will the 88 body kits work and is the car have the ability to be upgraded. I am familiar with the newer ones but not the older. Any help would be GREAT!

u could do a swap, although, you'd have to re-wire almost everything and probably have to hack up the engine bay, but u might be able to put a D15 into it
although with the stock engine, theres not a whole lot u can do,

it would be different though

Exactly! Whatever you choose to do its not going to be easy. Since its so old and carbed its going to take a lot of time and maybe money if its hard to find all the Fi parts needed. Some companys do make bodykits for 84-87(very few) but with modification you can make 88-91 kits work ive seen it done. The plus of these cars are theyre so light. Good luck if you choose to get it.

IMHO, with a 84-87 carbed car, you might as well throw a turbo LS in it and run a standalone computer because the wiring is a nightmare to run a honda ECU with fuel injection...
