Default How much is this 2001 GS-R shell worth?

Friend of mine has a 2001 GS-R shell that he is selling. Car is missing the engine with transmission, front and rear seats, radio, cluster (cluster wiring is cut), door panels.

All of the body panels such as fenders, bumpers, hood are there and in pretty much mint condition (except for the front bumper which has some scratches on it).

Suspension is still there, headlights, tail lights and the exhaust are there as well.

How much do you guys think this car is worth?

Here are some pictures:

What kind of title does it have? If it is a clean title i would pay 1400 for. Since all the body is still there. Just throw some seats in find a motor and there u go. If it is not clean title i would pay 1200 for it.

Car has a salvage title.

My buddy is asking $1000 for it so I guess it is a good deal.

Thanks for your input

That is a steal for that price. The body looks great. They did not steal the front & back bumper headlight tailights. Just drop a motor in and find some seats. On the cluster I would pull dash and replace that whole harness, that was cut. easy fix

looks like you will need an ignition as well - whats the story with the red integra next to that one - maybe you can get some of the parts off of that one (looks like it has door pannels at least)

i would agree that $1000 is a pretty good price. you'd need what...

panels: no more than $200?
seats: no more than $400?
engine/transmission: no more than $2-4k?
radio and cluster: no more than $200?
better set of wheels : no more than $500?

...so for about $3.5k-5.5k, you could have that baby up and running again. i'd say go for it. GL

Yeh, I'm gettin git for sure

I actually want to buy a crashed GS-R and swap all of the parts that I need and sell the rest. That way, the entire car shouldn't cost me more than $2.5-3k

Honestly, I would not pay more than $500 for the shell especially with a salvage title.

On a car like that, after putting it all back together, you want to be in the car for less than $3000 if you plan on reselling and making some money back. If you don't care about making money, then by all means, go crazy.

I think that just the tail lights and headlights are worth at least $350 plus the suspension is worth few hundred bucks, and I'm not even mentioning all of the body panels which are in mint condition

At the moment I'm considering few swap options:
a. K20 out of 06 RSX Type S or 07 Si
b. Stock GS-R swap
c. LS swap

Notmally I would go with K20 because I can get it for dirt cheap but I only have 1 car garage and that spot is taken already so that means that this car would have to be parked on the driveway.
Knowing how bad the car theft is in Chicago I will probably end up swaping LS motor and maybe build it up a little.

I can buy crashed, low mileage Integra LS for about $1000-$1500, swap all the parts that I need and reasale the rest. That would probably bring the total cost to maybe $2000.

I guess just in nashville cars are a little cheaper if you can find the right seller. I bought a 94 integra gsr. 1 owner. 145,000 miles. SLIGHT wreck in the front with clean and clear title for $1000. The car was complete and mint shape. All stock except for brand new omni sport coilovers, apexi WS2 exhaust, STRUP 4-1 ITR header.

But the shell is still mint, just sucks having a salvage title.

I see your point but in my case I really don't care about a piece of paper called title . I'm buying this car so I can beat the **** out of it since I don't want to do it to my Type R.
