Default LS/VTEC going in a 00 GSR, Do I need to use the Fan Switch on the block or thermo housing?

I'm building an ls/vtec and using a 92 B18a1 Block and has a spot for the fan switch on the block. I am also using a 01 ITR head that has the fan switch on the thermostat housing.

Can I plug the one on the block and just use the one on the thermostat housing? Will that cause any problems?

I prefer the thermo housing.
