Just recently got my car back from paint and my sunroof seal was over sprayed. Figured it was as easy as pulling it from the sunroof, but that isn't the case. Anyone have any ideas? This is on a 4th gen.

Oh, Hawkze, you wouldn't happen to have this seal laying around?

 

Take the sunroof out of the car. With the liner off(well it has to come off to get the sunroof out anyway)you should see some 8 or 10mm nuts. Loosen them and remove them. Then pull the metal plates that the nuts were holding on off the sunroof. With all of them off you should be able to just pull the seal. PITA huh?

 

Are you serious? More trouble than its worth, maybe. Perhaps I should just mask off the paint on the sunroof and carefully spread paint stripper on the seal.

 

No don't do that man. It is worth it to take it apart and do it right. Then you will know how to take it apart when you want to get a glass sunroof swap.

Did they actually start making the functional roof yet?
