question on timing
helping a buddy out. h23 with 13:1 compression pistons. was wondering what u guys thought about what the timing should be.
p.s. if you're going to judge. don't be an @$$

as of right now nothing, i was told by a reliable source that as long as the timing is DEAD F*****G on, it will be fine till tuned. im just wondering what that timing should be, coming from honda tuners, no one knows honda better, then a honda driver.
So he's going to by a Hondata or something? At that comp level it will be critical to have it run properly and safely. Stock timing is best until tuned, or slightly retarded 1-2 degrees if it's pinging but I would never say it's "safe" until it's tuned.
good stuff, but i guess he's just gonna part out the motor and go with something different. if anything changes with him keeping it, i'll post again. wonder how much im gonna get for helping, ha ha
