Default failed inspection question

i saw an SI and I checked out the carfax, and everything seemed to be perfect until I noticed that he failed inspection 2x. can this tell that anything is wrong with the car or is it fine since it passed inspection? well here's what it says:

02/23/2007 Failed safety inspection
Passed emissions inspection
05/07/2007
Passed safety inspection
Passed emissions inspection
04/08/2008
Failed safety inspection
04/12/2008
Passed safety inspection

and here's what the state requires for the inspection:

VIN Number/Registration/License Plates
Windshield
Wipers/Windshield Washer
Headlights/Headlight Aim
Turn Signals/4-Way Flashers
Tail Lamps/Brake Lights/Backup Lights/Other Lighting Devices
Horn
Exhaust System
Tires
Body Panels/Fuel Tank
Service Brake
Parking/Emergency Brake
Seat Belts
Ball Joints/Steering/Suspension
Emissions Test/Emissions Components (if applicable)

the fact that it failed safety is a concern. the most common reason to fail is the srs light is on which can easily be fixed by unplugging it, find out why exactly it failed and then ask what can be done to fix it

idk where your located but the i live in PA and ive had 2 civics a 97 lx sedan which was never in an accident nothing the SRS light was on and it was my moms before mine and she had it for a couple years and it always passed with the SRS light on and now i have a 96 ex coupe and the SRS light is on never in a "major" accident i did get backed into the quarter panel which was fixed and everything but even when i got it the SRS light was on and it passed inspection... so i dont understand why people say when the srs light is on somethings wrong because in both cars it was always on

I know from my experience living in VA with mandatory yearly inspections, you can fail for just about anything. I failed for having clear turn signal bulbs, I failed for having my coil overs to loose... oh and I failed for my high beam indicator being burnt out, and my brake indicator not working properly (the one for the hand brake). Each time it's been something stupid and little like that, but here at least, I can go back for a re-inspection to pass for an extra dollar within the 15 days.

So I would just ask why it failed, b/c it could be something big, or it migt be something little, we can't really tell ya know.

we have ours every 2 yrs.

also you can pass without back up light working. i've done it twice, but maybe it just depends on the person that does the inspection.

Nothin to worry about, you can fail for having an exhaust hanger not being connected, a hole is a rusted pipe, or brakes too low. If it passes now, its no problem.

i went through with my inner tailights unplugged (no reverse lights/1/2 brake lights not working) and the drivers side airbag was loosely bolted onto one side of the steering and literally was falling off. but i took the srs bulb out and they never noticed LOL
