Hi guys! I've had this Honda for three years- despite having a shortage in 06 that has been replaced (partially) my odometer doesn't work and the green S light will flash at random- no prob. But as of Sunday, while on the freeway- the RPMS revved up to '4' and it was a loud roar under my hood- i made it to church safely but was sure afraid! and the green S stayed on continously and eventually the check engine light joined him.

But after service, I was able to drive home as nothing happened. Well yesterday morning, it did it again driving to work. Later as my day ended, I started the car- but I couldn't push the button on the shifter to allow me to change gears- i was so afraid my tranny had gone out- but after continuing to try i got it in gear and made it home- yet again with the revving and rpms staying around 3 and 4. could anyone give me a clue as to what is going on? i don't have money to burn and give greedy mechanics money thinking im a dumb girl- so HELP!

just same things happeing to me . gear didn't want to shift - i just turn off then turn on eng few times and gas up high few time and got it free . and sound under hood , serviced and able to drive and next moring same thing "S" again.
you and me facing same problem with our 91 LX and i am trying every thing but end up same "S" sign and stuck 2nd gear (most 30--35 /MPH its go with loud roaring )
please help us some one some where must knows some thing......!!!!
( is it ok to drive every day around 40--50 miles 4 to 5 hours with "S" sign on and stuck 2nd gear ???? please advice me before my one and only car Honda die !!!)<U></U>
