Default h22\f22 vtec problem

First I will start with my setup. H22 block and head skunk2 pro2 cams, venom cam gears set at -2 and +2..F22 crank and connecting rods. H22 type s pistons. Ok before i start i realize a dyno tune is in order but i cant for another month casue it is almost 8 hours away.... the car pulls really hard till vtec comes on and than it just feels like it falls on its face. It still goes but not like it should.. I am running a chiped p06 which ran the stock h22 for 3 years fine ...vtec is set at 4800... anyone have any similiar experinces with this and maybe some ideas?????...

thanks

Did you clay the engine for piston to valve clearance on the VTEC lobe? If you didn't I'd tear it apart and find out if your valves are still straight.

Otherwise get a wide band o2 sensor and see if you're running rich or lean. Without tuning you're taking a risk though. That engine configuration is pretty high compression too. You're at even more risk running it untuned.

so you are running stock based ignition map for 12:1+ compression, aggressive cams and its untuned....hmmm. Sounds like a no brainer to me as long as there is valve clearance.
