Ok, I bought my 1990 crx si 3 months ago already had a jdm b16 swap in it. Guy i bought it off of didn't know what was wrong with it and was frustrated trying to fix it. The guy said it was a eletrical. I picked it up for dirt cheap and replaced the engine wiring harness but that still didn't fix the problem and it still won't turn over.

Just wondering what would be the best way to approach the situation? Tow it to a mechanic or any other options to try. Replace all the wiring in the whole car? Im runnin out of options.....

well tell us what s going on.

is it turning over?
do you have the correct harness? ecu? and distributor?

 

i looked up the ecu on hondata and its correct, the harness is correct i got the rywire vtec one as well on there. the engine will not turn over at all.

have you tested the battery or the starter?

Are there any CEL codes on the ECU?

 

havent tested the starter but have the battery, no codes on the ecu

 

Can you push start it?

What happens when you turn the ignition to the "on" position?
do the dash lights come on? can you hear a click (main relay), and a Hum from the back (fuel pump)?

is there voltage going to the starter?

is there spark? is the distributor okay, is the rotor loose?

 

Can you push start it? havent tried (up on jack stands at the moment)

yes the lights come on and i do hear the main relay and humm from the back

i have to check on this

im not sure how to check for spark w/o the engine turning over...

oh and check the grounds, and don't forget the thermostat ground
