Default Leather Interior?

I am in the market for a new car. I think I have narrowed it down to a civic but I need to know a few things. I want heated leather seats but don't know if the civic offers that. Also I want to know which model civic from 96 to 03 has the best fuel economy? And can anyone give me a list of the different models from 96 to 03 and what options they offer. I def. want a sunroof, would like to have heated seats, want power steering, cruise, power everthing, and I think I am swinging for a four door. Thanks guys.

Find NOFX. Shes got a link in her sig to a thread that she created about 6th gen aka 96-00 Civic trim differences. It will answer all of your questions. Except it doesnt deal with the 01-03 Civics.

If you want heated leather seats you won't get them in those cars. There is a Civic-based model sold in Canada called the 1.6EL (sedan only) which had heated leather seats if I recall.

The vehicles with the best gas mileage for the '96-'00 Civic line were the HX coupes (1.6L SOHC VTEC-E). The '92-'95 Civic with the best gas mileage was the VX hatch (1.5L SOHC VTEC-E). You might find interest in the '98-'00 Civic GX sedan that ran on natural gas, but the car had a limited run so it might be difficult to find.

If you want a sunroof, power steering, cruise control and power everything (doors, locks) in a sedan, look into the 1996-2000 Honda Civic EX sedan. The 1.6EL sounds like a great match for you if you can find one. Since you're in Maine, I think you have a fair chance. There are certain taxes involved with buying a car from Canada though. So if you can, find one in the US.

Oh, and here's an Acura 1.6EL. This is on the same chassis as the 1996-2000 Honda Civic sedan and shares the same engine as the Civic EX.

And here's an Acura 1.7EL. It's based on the 2001-2005 Honda Civic sedan.

I'm from canada, and I have to say that the 1.6EL is very sexy. From 2001 they replaced it with the 1.7EL which is really nice too (now its the CSX). Anyways, as far as importing cars, usually between Canada and the US its quite easy because our safety standards are more or less the same, for example everything will be DOT approved. The ONLY thing, is usually a question of taxes. Also, I think you need to have it inspected before you can plate it. I'm not sure what the procedure is in Maine, but I found this:
http://foreignborn.com/visas_i...r.htm

I checked out some prices and in Sherbrooke, QC (near the border) its about $3-6k for a 1.6EL and $7-12k for a 1.7EL CAD of course (not that it really matters anymore)

I briefly looked into Canadian RSXes since they have some different color combos and such available there, but was turned off when I looked into the heavy taxes. I think you have to own the car (in Canada) for a year or more for taxes not to count when you bring it to the US.

Well, I'm from Delaware but moved to Washington to be with my boyfriend. I knew a few girls back east who were into cars, but none were really into them as much as I am. Not that they didn't want to or have the capability to mentally. They just hadn't started to learn until much later. A lot of girls don't get into it by themselves so they just never get into it.
