My 91 Accord LX auto stay on 2nd gear when i drive it and doesn't want to go faster than 30--35 /mpha nd the "S" (D4) light is on. checked TCU which is good other few things too.spent lots of money but still same problem . any one can help me out please whats wrong or problem it could be . thank you all .

How did you test the TCU?
Did you jumper the service check connector and see if there are any codes stored?
Most of the time I've seen a hard code; D4 light on all the time it is a bad TCU.

thank you Hondadude for your post. well what i did was 1st bought a used TCU sam model same identical TCU and replace mine but didn't work ,same problem. next switch with another TCU with a 91Accord EX ( mine LX) ,still didn't work. the problem 1st occur when i tried to aviod a car coming towards me from side and ipressed the gas high to aviod any accident and thats its "S" sign turn on from the moment .once a while S sign used to go away for a while but now its on all the time. have no idea what i will do next, none can figure out ! one guy say some thing under gear box cxonnection might be lose but ckd every thing there too and still "S" stuck . please let me know any one anything about it. this is the only car have in my family. thank you all

 

Any resolution on this? I am trying to buy an accord with the same issue. I can probably get it for dirt cheap if I knew the resolution on this.
