Default See the resemblance?

My parents went to Europe last week and my dad took a bunch of pictures of exotic cars for me. Well going through them on the digital camera, I came across this. And look what I found it looks like.. haha

looks like this integra body kit...

All Japanese car styling is derrived from European design.

nah man, even though all us JDM newbies loved body kits and **** back in the days, we cant ever admit it now..black hoods, ashy rims, and things with absolutely no appeal are dope to us now.. we never liked anything made of fiberglass ever...but we arent above taking off a factory lip to paint it flat black.. and/or removing a perfectly good clock, to put a thing in there that reminds us what kinda car we're driving.. we call cars with kits rice, but we have cars that are made to look like road racers, yet we only drag race.. so we still arent using our cars for the purpose suggested by the looks, which means its still just LOOKS..which would make our cars.........rice too? hmm

This seems to be all you like talking about on this board isn't it? How everyone on HT just jumps from one trend to another...

While I agree, I think we all get your point.

Big body kits are out...lips are in. I think alot of it as to do with the fact that people have realized that heavy rims, extra body kit weight, and big systems do nothing but slow down their already underpowered car. Now I agree that it's funny that someone goes and calls rice to someone that spends a grand on a wild body kit, then turns around and goes to home depot to get garden trim to use as their homemade lip spoiler - but to each his own. My feeling is that its your car, do whatever you like. From what I can tell after surfing different forums over the years is that most people are sheep. Example - Some OG on a honda board says that a blue interior light is rice, but a clock cover isnt - and it spreads like wild fire.

One thing about this board that I find REALLY funny is how quickly something gets "played out." Take some Rota wheels for example. I live in an area with a fairly large import scene and I saw my first set of Rota wheels on a Type R just last week. Now I dont make a habit of runnin out to shows but I do take my R to the street races / the drag strip sometimes. And all I've seen is 1 set. Then you come onto this board and you see the same cars posted by their owners all the time and they happen to have Rotas on them - and all of a sudden "everyone's got them." Its like when I owned my Audi, and everyone on the Audi boards said Oettinger rims were played out when the fact is there might be 1 or 2 Audis in the whole DC area with them on.

The way I've ben going about cars these last few years is simple : no matter what trend there is going on at the time, speed is the one thing that has lasted over time. Make your car fast, and it doesn't matter what it looks like - you'll always be able to have fun in it.

Anyways - this isn't me trying to start a fight...just kind of acknowledging I know where your coming from.

By the way - whats wrong with a carbon fiber hood IF its actually noticably lighter then the stock hood?

whoa I actually saw one of those GTV's driving on I-40 going east towards Nashville one night a few months ago! It was red, and I had no idea what it was, took me several days of searching the net to figure out what it was.

I personally like that GTV. The triangle in the middle is their trademark. That Integra body kit is ghey, tho.

The GTV I saw had a custom rear valence w/ center exit exhaust, aftermarket wheels, possibly lowered, etc.

i know where you're coming from.. i just like to comment on the way people have changed.. its funny to me.. and i never said anything was wrong with carbon fiber.. i just said IN MY OPINION, that when make something like a hood, or a fender, carbon fiber, its just weight reduction, not something for show.. if a car is white or something bright, why make the front end black? just my opinion..

you hit the nail on the head! people here will never admit that one day back in the day they liked that alfa front. they also wont admit that they loved graphing diffrent cars together. the thing is i might not have a honda but i have been into hondas since i was 14, thanks to older cuzins, anyway, ive seen just about ever thrend come and go and come again and go again. this jdm look thing isnt new, back in the day people used to keep cars USDM but its all good, as long as its clean im down for it. peace
